| Lincoln, NE - The Lincoln East Spartans dominated here Thursday afternoon at Seacrest field. The fireworks began when Pat Spangler plunged 1 yard to score on the first East position. That drive covered 11 plays and 54 yards. Defensively, the Spartans were very tough to drive on as they held the Tigers to only 28 yards rushing and 58 yards passing. Specialty teams were lead by outstanding kicks from Tony Tabatabai. Tony scored on field goals of 47, 37 and 27 yards. On kickoffs Tony's strong leg only allowed the Tigers to run a couple of returns and they only made it to the 20 yard line. The punt return team also recorded a safety for the Spartans. The third quarter scoring started when Spangler found Saul Bakewell in the left corner for a 12 yard pass. The final score came on a Matt Potadle toss sweep for 26 yards to give the Spartans a 32-0 thumping over Fremont. The bench was unloaded in the final stanza and many Spartans saw some action |
