Lincoln, NE - The Lincoln East Spartans played yet another top 10 team Friday night and came away with a defeat to the hands of Lincoln Northeast 38-23. A crowd of 3,352 fans witnessed a solid ground game by the Rockets. John Fisher was the man in charge with four rushing touchdowns and 236 yards.

The Spartans managed to bottle up the Rockets in the middle but, Northeast exposed the Spartans weakness on the outside.

Jim Ebke and the Spartan offense showed a lot of heart and improvement. East drove down the field on it's first possession and stalled before Spud Mann put the Spartans on top 3-0. The offense managed to roll up 23 points on the Rockets behind Ebke's 111 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Ebke also found Tyler McManaman across the middle for a 27 yard touchdown pass.

East managed to get within 8 points with 2 minutes to go in the third quarter but an interception and fumble shut down the Spartans from that point on.
