Lincoln, NE - The electricity was in the air. The band, the student body and the fans felt an upset in the making. But, Southeast Knights held the Spartans on the seven to secure a 6-0 victory over East.

Over 3,750 fans saw the best defensive stand that the Spartans have made all year. Down 6-0 the Spartans got the ball on it's own 12 yard line with 6:35 to go in the game. Using all the clock to mark down the field, the Spartans came up short on fourth down from the 7-yard line. Jordan Tolston made the play of the game when tackled Jim Ebke and prevented a first down from the 4-yard line.

Southeast scored the games only points when Matt Huss rushed 7-yards for the touchdown with 1:34 left in the third quarter. Jared Schwede busted through the Knights line to block a field goal early in the game.

A lot of kids for East came to play and play they did. They find themselves 0-4 but, without argument have had the toughest schedule in the state and probably the best 0-4 team in the state. District play starts next week and with continued electricity provided by the students, band, cheerleaders and fans the Spartans could still finish the season on a state qualification and a great base for next season.
